Hey there Pawrents!
Welcome to Bark a Tree’s page! We’re glad to have you join us!
We realise that many of you have asked the burning question on What Bark A Tree is, and what is the difference between Bark A Tree and Hope for Animals. We apologise if we had created any confusion!
So let me explain! Hope for Animals was created back in 2012 when I lost 3 of my Jack Russell’s in tragic incidences within the span of 6 months. Hope for Animals goal is to promote awareness of shelters and adoption, and to fund-raise for animal causes. How do we do it? We started with flea markets and helping out at adoption drives. We slowly moved into doing charity car washes and other avenues. In 2016 we designed 7 doggie ang baos to sell for the purpose fundraising. Subsequently, we moved into doing bigger adoption drives, flea markets, more car washes and art auctions.
Doing this for about 6 years, we constantly had the chance to grow our team of core members. As it is a non-profit, we paid for a lot of things from our own pockets and rarely ever manage to get compensated for the work that we do – we realised that one of our biggest goals that is to teach owners pet responsibility, which was not making its reach within our events.
This is where Bark a Tree was born. Bark a Tree is a social enterprise, a registered company with a mission to instil skills and knowledge to pet owners (starting with dogs!) in Singapore through our activities such as; staycations, day retreats and events. We get pet owners to join us for our activities, and guide them through fun and engaging activities to be the best pet owner they can be. Bark a Tree is also what we hope to be our full-time pursuit so that we can fully focus on the pet industry and our mission – bring owners and their pets happiness.
Bark a Tree has now adopted Hope For Animals as our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) arm. Marrying the two together allows us to better serve our causes! Bark A Tree handles all aspects of Hope for Animals including event planning, finding sponsorships, working with vendors and shelters, coming up with creative content and anything more to support Hope For Animals.
